All About Us
MicroBiome Science
The data produced by the test provides valuable insight into the forces at work within our pet’s bodies. Diet, metabolism, energy, vitamins and amino acids production which together contribute to the overall health and well being of our pets.
Canine Microbiome together Petbiome host the first dedicated laboratory service in Europe and Australia (now coming to the US) using advance next generation sequencing technology to produce a real time snap shot of the internal microbial community of the gastrointestinal tract. The data produced by the test provides valuable insight into the forces at work within our pet’s bodies. Diet, metabolism, energy, vitamins and amino acids production which together contribute to the overall health and well being of our pets.
Mi·Cro·Bi·Ome
Entire collection of microbes living in and on the body
The microbiome is the entire collection of microbes living in and on the body. The microbiome forms a living layer over the skin and parts of the inside of the body, including the lungs and the digestive tract, from the mouth all the way down to the colon. When the microbes in your pet’s gut are out of balance, your body can’t absorb nutrients the way it should. The result of this is inflammation, the root of almost every chronic disease.

Recommendation are backed by science and unique to your dog
Our pets have a microbiome that is home to thousands of microbes, with links to immune function, energy and nutrient availability.
DNA sequencing allow us to accurately pinpoint levels of all the good and bad gut microbes and make personalised recommendations on how best to increase or reduce them through dietary changes.
Good gut bacteria such as eubacteria, roseburia and clostridiales, help to form a barrier against invasion from pathogenic bacteria, the barrier is called the ‘Resistome’. Many of our pets have low levels of these good gut bacteria.

bacteria
Microbiome ability to process nutrients in foods like vegetables, cereal and legumes.
bacteria
If your pet’s microbes are not able to digest the amount of protein their are eating.
bacteria
Your pet’s flatulence odour
bacteria
If the diet you’re feeding your pet is contributing to inflammation and allergies
bacteria
Identifying specific microbes that can affect your pet’s behaviour
bacteria
If their diet is promoting the growth of potential pathogens (disease-causing bacteria) like E.coli and Salmonella.
bacteria
Your pet’s metabolism status
bacteria
Their gut wall integrity
